Michael E. Chait has a B.A. from the University of Washington and a J.D. from the University of Southern California School of Law, where he served as production editor for the Review of Law and Social Justice. Prior to joining Montgomery Scarp, PLLC, Mike spent eight years practicing with a large California firm, specializing in commercial litigation. Mike's primary area of practice remains civil litigation with an emphasis on railroad law, Jones Act (FELA), commercial and intellectual property litigation. Mike also has a wealth of experience advising companies on privacy, regulatory, and commercial matters, in a wide array of industries, helping businesses with compliance and strategies to mitigate litigation risk.
Mike is admitted to practice in California and Washington State, the United States District Courts for Northern District of California, Southern District of California, Central District of California, Western District of Washington, and Eastern District of Washington and the Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel (NARTC) and Washington Defense Trial Lawyers (WDTL).
When not working, Mike enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, running, home brewing, and cheering on the University of Washington crew.
